Thankful for Momma Cali- RIP Sweet Girl

I learned today that Momma Cali- the Barncat passed away on 1/23.
Cali is the mother of our Sunny, Moony, & Furby and...
My sister Marie's Cali and Dusty-who predeceased her in June 2005.

Cali was just a tiny little girl, tortoiseshell calico & white.
She had 5 litters of kittens before she was spayed.
She was an excellent mom.
Thank you Cali for the gift of Sunny, Moony & Furby...

Randy was very much at home on the farm.
He had lots of barn cats like her growing up.
He had so much respect for Cali as a mouser!

Marie's Cali Jr. looks so much like her mom without the white mitts.

Betsy, Cali's PURRson, brought her indoors as she aged.
She adored her and was devastated by her loss.
I'm not sure how old she was.  I'm guessing 14 or 15 years.

Farewell Cali, we all love you...

Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-
I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

I'm so sorry about Cali. It sounds like she was a good, hard-working cat. Kitties like that are a rare and special breed - far more valuable than the breeds that get papers.

She was beautiful, Carm. I love the independence & personalities of barn cats when they are happy and well loved yet have their freedom to live their life naturally. I just lost a client's cat yesterday and am very sad about her passing. I cried like it was one of my own. You get so attached to them. RIP Momma Cali
Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5

We certainly send our purrs for Cali. We have had many Momma kitty barn cats and they are the best. Glad she got to come in at the end of her life. They do like being outside though. So RIP Momma Cali. Your children will look after things now.

Aw, I'm so sorry to hear about Cali. What a pretty girl!

I'm glad that I picked Furby for the Face of Cute this week. Perfect timing, to help honor some of the great things she did (she made beautiful babies!).

{{hugs}}

So sorry to hear about this. It seems that Cali had quite a fulfilling life, however, and made lots of contributions to this world with her own babies, and her mousing abilities.

Rest in Peace, dear one.
